Taiwan Women’s Film Association under COVID-19: Ramifications, Strategies and Transformations (December 15, 2020)

Taiwan Women’s Film Association (TWFA) is a non-governmental organization, whose main projects include the annual Women Make Waves International Film Festival (WMWIFF). Similar to many other NGOs, TWFA has faced a certain degree of struggle and challenge during the current pandemic. In this talk, Pecha Lo will share with the audience the impacts of COVID-19 on the sector and TWFA’s coping strategies. The talk will not only examine the circumstances and challenges within Taiwan, such as NGOs’ adjusting business plans with private entrepreneurs and government departments, but will also demonstrate unique transformational opportunities in the international film festival industry.
